Power While Using Drive Media Ä CAUTION: To prevent possible video and audio degradation and loss of audio or video playback functionality, do not initiate Standby or Hibernation while using drive media. Do not initiate Standby or Hibernation while the notebook is accessing a drive medium. A drive medium is any storage device that can be inserted into a drive, for example, a diskette, disk, CD, or DVD. The operating system normally prevents the system from going to Standby or Hibernation if data is being transferred. However, to avoid the possibility of losing critical data, do not initiate Standby or Hibernation while transferring files. While Using Infrared Do not initiate Standby or Hibernation while using infrared. If the notebook is in Standby or Hibernation, an infrared transmission cannot be initiated. During an infrared transmission: I If Standby is initiated, the transmission stops. The transmission resumes when the notebook exits Standby. To exit Standby, briefly press the power button. I If Hibernation is initiated, the infrared transmission is terminated and the notebook shuts down. To restart the transmission, exit Hibernation by briefly pressing the power button, then start a new infrared transmission.
