IMPORTANT: This display indicates that the adapter is not connected to the network. Verify that the adapter is properly connected using the appropriate cable. Check the connection In some cases, the operating system may not even display the network icon in the system taskbar. To verify network connections in this situation, complete the following steps: 1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. 2. Double-click Network Connections. 3. If an adapter is not connected to the network, a red X appears over its network icon in the Network Connections window (see Figure 1-6). Once again, verify that the adapter is properly connected using either Category 5 or better cable (for AD380A) or fiber optic cable (for AD381A).
