1 Printer information 17 Using the embedded Web server The HP LaserJet 9000 Series comes equipped with an embedded Web server. Accessing the embedded Web server from a Web browser on a computer lets you obtain information about the printer, including: l Control panel messages l Supplies levels and ordering l Tray configuration l Printer control panel menu configurations l Printer configuration page l Printer Event Log l Printer usage (types of print jobs) l Network configuration and management l E-mail alerts You can also use the embedded Web server to perform the print job management functions that would usually be done at the printer control panel. These functions include: l Changing printer settings l Changing printer configuration l Canceling print jobs To gain access to the embedded Web server Note To use the embedded Web server, you must have an IP-based network and a Web browser. In your Web browser, type the IP address assigned to the printer. For example, if the printer IP address is 192.0.0.192, you would type this address: http://192.0.0.192 Using the embedded Web server
