-orFrom the Print Queue, click the Utility icon. HP Printer Utility features The HP Printer Utility consists of pages that you open by clicking in the Configuration Settings list. The following table describes the tasks that you can perform from these pages. Shows the device supplies status. Transfers files from the computer to the device. Transfers font files from the computer to the device. Transfers updated firmware files from the computer to the device. Turns on the automatic two-sided printing mode. Turns on the Economode setting to conserve toner, or adjusts toner density. Changes the resolution settings, including the REt setting. Locks or unlocks storage products, such as a hard disk. Manages print jobs that are stored on the device hard disk. Changes the default tray settings. Changes the device network settings and provides access to the embedded Web server. Provides the ability to turn on or off Bonjour support or change the device service name that is listed on a network. Provides access to the embedded Web server. Configures the device to send e-mail notices for certain events. Priority for print settings for Macintosh Changes to print settings are prioritized depending on where the changes are made: NOTE: The names of commands and dialog boxes might vary depending on your software program. ● Page Setup dialog box: Click Page Setup or a similar command on the File menu of the program you are working in to open this dialog box. Settings changed here might override settings changed anywhere else. ● Print dialog box: Click Print, Print Setup, or a similar command on the File menu of the program you are working in to open this dialog box. Settings changed in the Print dialog box have a lower priority and do not override changes made in the Page Setup dialog box. ● Default printer driver settings: The default printer driver settings determine the settings used in all print jobs, unless settings are changed in the Page Setup, Print, or Printer Properties dialog boxes. ● Printer control panel settings: Settings changed at the printer control panel have a lower priority than changes made anywhere else. 60 Chapter 4 Use the product with Macintosh ENWW
