- If disabled (the default), choke is not applied, and the following two settings are inapplicable. - If enabled, choke is applied: some pixels are removed from the white layer. ● Smart choke - If disabled (the default), choke is applied to the whole white layer. Some small details may disappear. - If enabled, choke is applied only to parts of the image where there is color above or below the white layer, and small details are protected. ● Pixels to shrink The number of pixels to be removed from the white layer. HP recommends starting with 4 pixels (at 600 dpi) and adjusting the amount if necessary. NOTE: The number of pixels to be removed is related to the image resolution: so 4 pixels at 600 dpi is equivalent to 2 pixels at 300 dpi. White ink maintenance operations See Summary of maintenance operations on page 135. Roll printing kit The roll printing kit permits printing on rolls of flexible substrate, using two spindles for long jobs, or the table roll holder for shorter jobs. It supports prints up to 10 m (32 ft 10 in) in length. To load with two spindles, see Load flexible substrate on page 53. Load flexible substrates with table-top roll holder If the optional flexible-substrate supply and takeup system with table-top roll holder is installed on the printer, you can print on flexible substrates in the following way. CAUTION: Flexible substrates are supported up to a maximum width of 1.63 m (64 in), a maximum length of 10 m (32 ft 10 in), and a maximum weight of 20 kg (44 lb). See also Supported HP flexible substrates on page 329. 1. If installed, detach the rigid-substrate output table from the printer, and set it aside. 2. Ensure that the input extension table is correctly installed. See Extension tables on page 287. 3. Install the table-top roll holders into the holes on the input table, allowing the substrate to be loaded centered on the printer. 4. Load the substrate onto the table-top roll holder, spooling off the top, with the substrate centered. ENWW Roll printing kit 281
