Remove the TouchPad LED board

Before removing the TouchPad LED board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 36) b. Memory module (see Memory module on page 37 ) c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 42) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 44) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 49) Remove the TouchPad LED board: 1. Position the computer right-side up, with the front toward you. 2. Slide the TouchPad LED board (1) out from the bracket holding it in the base enclosure. 3. Remove the TouchPad LED board from the base enclosure (2). Before removing the TouchPad LED board, follow these steps:

Position the computer right-side up, with the front toward you.
2.
Slide the TouchPad LED board

out from the bracket holding it in the base enclosure.
3.
Remove the TouchPad LED board from the base enclosure

Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad LED board.
