Security lock bracket Description Security Lock/Bracket Hardware Kit Spare part number 640342-001 Before removing the security lock bracket, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 36) b. Memory module (see Memory module on page 37 ) c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 42) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 44) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 49) f. Speaker assembly (see Speaker assembly on page 62) Remove the security lock bracket: 1. Position the computer right-side up, with the right side toward you. 2. Remove the Phillips 4.5x2.5 screw (1) that secures the security lock bracket to the base enclosure. ENWW Component replacement procedures 67

Before removing the security lock bracket, follow these steps:
1.

Remove the security lock bracket:
1.
Position the computer right-side up, with the right side toward you.
2.
Remove the Phillips 4.5x2.5 screw
(1)
that secures the security lock bracket to the base
enclosure.
