Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 48). 5. Remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 57) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 51) c. Switch cover (see Switch cover and keyboard on page 63) d. Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 68) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 80) When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board: ● TV tuner module (see TV tuner module on page 55) ● RTC battery (see RTC battery on page 56) ● Memory module (see Memory module on page 53) ● Bluetooth module (see Bluetooth module on page 79) ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 60) ● Modem module (see Modem module on page 83) ● Processor (see Processor on page 96) Remove the system board: 1.
