Hardware Operator's Guide Setting Cleaning Cartridge Count Drives might occasionally require cleaning to prevent read/write errors. The drives are cleaned with a special cleaning cartridge. After a specified number of uses, the cartridge must be replaced. If your LSM was configured during installation to have the AUTO CLEAN feature enabled, you can use the LSM operator panel to set the maximum number of times a cartridge can be used. The DLT Tape Drive Product Manual suggests that you use a DLT cleaning cartridge about 20 times. You can use the View Config section of Figure 2-4 to determine whether the feature is enabled. Refer to Figure 2-2 and Figure 2-4 to set the count. 2-6

are cleaned with a special cleaning cartridge. After a specified number of uses, the
