2 System Features Processor Frequency Jumpers Some VEi 8 models have a jumper block on the mother board to set processor frequency. You only need to install a new jumper on the jumper block if a new processor is supplied with one. Processor Frequency jumper (only required for some processors). To install the jumper, simply place it over the jumper block. It can only go on one way. If the Processor Frequency is Set Wrongly The computer may execute erratically, if at all, or may overheat, if it is configured to operate at a higher processor speed than the processor is capable of supporting. This can cause damage to the computer. Setting the jumpers to operate at a slower speed than the processor is capable of supporting, can still cause erratic behavior in some cases, and would reduce the instruction throughput in others. 18
