Display assembly Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 25). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 28). 6. Remove the following components: a. WLAN module (see WLAN/Bluetooth combo card on page 32) b. WWAN module (see WWAN module on page 34) Remove the display assembly: 1. Position the computer upside down. 2. Disconnect the display cable from the system board. 3. Remove the WLAN antennas and WWAN antennas (if equipped) from the routing path along the base of the computer. 4. Remove the 5 Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (1) from the display hinges. 5. Lift the display assembly straight up and remove it (2). CAUTION: When installing the display assembly, be sure that the wireless antenna cables are routed and arranged properly. Failure to properly route the antennas can result in degradation of the computer's wireless performance. Component replacement procedures 51

Display assembly
Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by
first
unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the bottom cover (see

).
5.
Remove the battery (see

on page
28
).
6.
Remove the following components:
a.
WLAN module (see
WLAN/Bluetooth combo card
on page
32
)
b.
WWAN module (see
WWAN module
on page
34
)
Remove the display assembly:
1.
Position the computer upside down.
2.
Disconnect the display cable from the system board.
3.
Remove the WLAN antennas and WWAN antennas (if equipped) from the routing path along the base of
the computer.
4.
Remove the 5 Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws

from the display hinges.
5.
Lift the display assembly straight up and remove it

When installing the display assembly, be sure that the wireless antenna cables are routed
