First Terminal Start after New Image Installation A newly flashed terminal (new from the factory or immediately after a firmware image upgrade) initially displays a one-time-only (does not display on subsequent terminal restarts) message indicating that the system must be turned off and restarted to initialize the write filter (Wfilter). The terminal automatically restarts. Ignore and do not respond to any error messages that displays during the restart process. If the administrator performs the restart upon completion of the upgrade, the user never has to see this message. Write Filter Initialization Message Box Upgrade Using Image Upgrade Dialog Box Use this method to upgrade one terminal at a time. Proceed as follows: 1. Open the Image Upgrade dialog box (Start > Programs > Image Upgrade). 2. In the Path text box, type the path to the directory where the upgrade can be found. 3. Type your user name and password for the share in the User Name and Password text boxes, respectively. 4. In the Domain Name text box, type the name of the domain for which the user name and password you typed in steps 2 and 3 are valid. 5.
