6270 Setup (cont'd) How to Set the Time and Date You can set the time and date from the Set Time & Date screen. Pressing the Time and Date bar located at the bottom of each 6270 screen displays the Set Time & Date screen. N When the time is set it will be stored in the 6270 only. The 6270 will send the time to the control panel every hour. This 1-hour timer starts on 6270 power-up. N If Adjust for DST (Daylight Savings Time) is selected, the 6270 will adjust for Daylight Savings time. When selected, the next time the 1-hour timer expires, the new value will be sent to the control panel. IMPORTANT: This means that the 6270 setting will override and overwrite the control panel time setting. That is, if the control panel is set to DST and adjusts but the 6270 is not, upon the 1-hour timer expiration, the control panel will be updated to the current time that is not adjusted for DST. From the Set Time & Date screen, adjust either or both the time and date by pressing the increase or decrease arrow buttons as necessary until the proper month, day, year, hour, and minute are displayed.
