Passwords - BMC POST Watchdog Timeout Set the BMC POST watchdog timeout value. 5 minutes is the default setting. - System BMC Serial Port Sharing Enable or disable the system BMC serial port sharing. Enable is the default setting. - BMC Serial Port Access Mode Share or disable the BMC serial port access mode. Shared is the default setting. - Reboot system on NMI If you enable this option, the server automatically restarts 60 seconds after the service processor issues a nonmaskable interrupt (NMI) to the server. If you disable this option, the server does not restart. Enable is the default setting. - BMC Network Configuration Select this choice to view the BMC Network Configuration information. - BMC System Event Log To view the BMC System Event Log, which contains all system error and warning messages that have been generated. Use the arrow keys to move between pages in the log. If an optional IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine is installed, the full text of the error messages is displayed; otherwise, the log contains only numeric error codes. Run the diagnostic program to get more information about error codes that occur. See the Problem Determination and Service Guide on the IBM System x Documentation CD for instructions. Select Clear error logs to clear the BMC system event log. v Error Logs Select this choice to view or clear error logs. This choice is available on the full Configuration/Setup Utility menu only. - POST Error Log Select this choice to view the three most recent error codes and messages that were generated during POST. Select Clear error logs to clear the POST error log. v Save Settings Select this choice to save the changes you have made in the settings. v Restore Settings Select this choice to cancel the changes you have made in the settings and restore the previous settings. v Load Default Settings Select this choice to cancel the changes you have made in the settings and restore the factory settings. v Exit Setup Select this choice to exit from the Configuration/Setup Utility program. If you have not saved the changes you have made in the settings, you are asked whether you want to save the changes or exit without saving them. From the System Security choice, you can set, change, and delete a power-on password and an administrator password. The System Security choice is on the full Configuration/Setup menu only. Chapter 3.
