Dual Beer Kegerator/Beverage Cooler Maintaining your kegerator Your kegerator is designed for year-round use with only minimal cleaning and maintenance. When you first receive it, wipe the case with a mild detergent and warm water, then wipe dry with a dry cloth. Do this periodically to keep your kegerator looking new. Caution To prevent damage to the finish, do not use: • Gasoline, benzine, thinner, or other similar solvents. • Abrasive cleaners. Cleaning the interior of your kegerator: 1 Unplug your kegerator from the wall outlet to turn it off. 2 Remove all kegs and all beverages. 3 Wash the inside with a damp warm cloth soaked in a solution of one quart of lukewarm water to two tablespoons of baking soda solution. 4 Wash the shelves and metal plate with a mild detergent solution. 5 Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth when cleaning around the controls or any electrical parts. 6 Wash the outside cabinet with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth. 7 Be sure to keep the door gasket (seal) clean to keep the unit running efficiently. 8 Dry the interior and exterior with a soft cloth. Cleaning the beer components To prevent a build-up of yeast and mold in the beer lines, and to prevent a bad taste, clean your beer components when you replace a keg. 1 Remove the keg coupler and thoroughly rinse it in warm water. 2 Use the included wrench to remove the faucet on the draft arm assembly. Insert the tip of the wrench into one of the holes on the faucet, rotate it, then thoroughly rinse the faucet in warm water. 3 Clean the beer lines using either a hand pump cleaning kit or a cleaning can (both sold separately). Automatic defrosting There is no need to defrost your kegerator. The defrost water collects at the back of your cooler and passes through a drain outlet into a tray located above the compressor where it evaporates. www.insigniaproducts.com 19
