SAS/SATA Mid-Planes The mid-plane serves as the primary interface between the server board, the hot-swap backplane, and the control panel. Two midplanes are offered for this system: a passive SATA only, and an active SAS/SATA. The following diagrams show the location for each connector found on the mid-planes.
