Connecting to Amp's Standard PRE-OUT Jacks Connect the PRE-OUT jacks on the amp or receiver to the LINE IN jacks on the subwoofer. Make the connection using pin-plug audio cable. (The cable is not included with the subwoofer.) Bending of plugs may cause internal wires to break, resulting in loss of sound. If installing the subwoofer vertically, be sure to use pin-plug cables with short plugs. • It is also possible to connect the subwoofer's LINE IN jacks to the REC OUT Notes or LINE OUT jacks on the amp or receiver (using the same cable as described here). If you make this type of connection, however, volume adjustments at the amp side will not affect the volume from the subwoofer. This means that you will need to manually adjust the subwoofer volume each time you adjust the volume at the amp side. • If you wish to connect the subwoofer to the PRE-OUT jacks on a standalone preamplifier, the preamp unit must include a second set of terminals for connection to speaker amps, and must be capable of simultaneous output to both the PRE-OUT jacks and the speaker-amp jacks.
