12.3.3
Developing Roller drive
The developing roller is driven by the Developing motor (M3) and Intermediate gear.
When the toner cartridge rack is stationery at the developing position, the developing
roller drive gear comes into mesh with the Intermediate gear. The developing roller is
then rotated through the drive provided by the Developing motor (M3) and Intermediate
gear.
12.3.4
Developing bias
The developing bias voltage (
V
b) is applied to the developing roller so that an adequate
amount of toner is attracted onto the surface of the photo conductor.
The developing bias voltage (
V
b) is supplied by the High voltage unit (H
V
).
The developing bias voltage is applied to the developing roller via the supply roller.
The developing bias voltage is also applied to the doctor blade.
The developing bias voltage is turned O
N
at the same time that the developing motor is
energized and turned OFF at the same time that the developing motor is deenergized.
