If the error persists, replace the memory modules one at a time until the failing module is determined. POST error codes Each time you turn on your computer, it performs a series of tests to check the operation of the computer components and some optional devices in the computer. This series of tests is called the power-on self-test, or POST. The POST does the following operations: • Checks some basic system board operations • Checks the memory operation • Starts the video operation • Verifies that the boot drive is working If the POST detects a problem, an error message is displayed on the screen. A single problem can cause several error messages.
