Erase Temporary Data Files menu This menu allows you to remove residual confidential material from the scanner hard disk and free up memory space. All permanent data on the hard disk are preserved, such as downloaded fonts, macros, and held jobs. This uses random data patterns to securely overwrite files stored on the hard drive that have been marked for deletion. Overwriting can be accomplished with a single pass‑‑for a quick wipe‑‑or with multiple passes with greater security. Note: This menu appears only when a formatted, working scanner hard disk is installed.
