Frequently asked questions Opening the drum door during a power failure  Turn off the washing machine. There is a tool behind the detergent drawer control panel for opening the access panel to the drain filter.  If laundry has been washed at a high temperature, water draining out of the machine will still be hot. Danger of scalding! Be careful when draining the suds. Draining the washing machine  Place a suitable container under the access flap. When draining water from the machine, do not unscrew the drain filter completely or take it all the way out.  Remove the tool.  Use it to open the drain filter. Blocked drain outlet If the drain outlet is blocked, a large quantity of water (up to 6.6 gallons (25 liters)) can remain in the washing machine.  Slowly and carefully unscrew the drain filter to let the water out. Be careful not to release too much water at once. If the flow of water is too strong, some water can seep into the washing machine base and activate the water protection float switch. This will prevent the washing machine from functioning.  Tighten the drain filter back up again if you need to interrupt the flow of water. 40
