Nextel Direct Connect® Make a Direct Connect Call 1. Enter a Direct Connect (DC) number using your keypad. Make sure to include asterisks * when entering DC numbers. (If you make a mistake while dialing, press Delete [right softkey] to erase.) - or - Press / > Contacts or / > Recent Calls and select an entry containing a Direct Connect number. 2. Press and hold the Direct Connect button on the side of the phone. Begin speaking after your phone emits a chirping sound. Continue holding the Direct Connect button until you have finished speaking. 3. Release the Direct Connect button to allow the other party to speak. 4. When you're finished, do nothing or press @. Direct Connect calls end automatically after there is no activity for several seconds. Depending on the plan and options selected, additional charges may apply. Coverage is not available everywhere.
