Troubleshooting If the camera fails to function as expected, check the list of common problems below before consulting your retailer or Nikon representative. Refer to the page numbers in the right-most column for more information. Problem Camera turns off without warning Monitor is blank No indicators appear in monitor Monitor is hard to read Camera clock is not correct Camera settings reset No picture taken when shutterrelease button is pressed Cause/Solution • Batteries are low. 13 • Batteries are cold. 86 • Camera is off. • Batteries are exhausted. • Standby mode: press shutter-release button halfway. • Flash lamp blinks: wait until flash has charged. • USB cable is connected. • A/V cable is connected. 13 13 8, 69 18 49, 54 48 Hide info is selected for Photo info. 66 Select Show info. • Adjust monitor brightness. 66 • Monitor is dirty: clean monitor. 86 Check camera clock regularly against 64 more accurate timepieces and reset as required.
