Discs - Changing the player's settings ■ "Audio" tab-To make settings to suit your digital connection and other audio settings PCM Digital Output Select the maximum sampling frequency of PCM digital output. Check the digital input limitations of the equipment you connect. Up to 48 kHz: Signals over 48 kHz converted to 48 or 44.1 kHz Up to 96 kHz: Signals over 96 kHz converted to 48 or 44.1 kHz • Signals from copy-protected discs are converted to 48 or 44.1 kHz irrespective of the setting. • Some equipment cannot handle sampling frequencies of 88.2 kHz, even if it can handle 96 kHz. Read your equipment's operating instructions for details. Dolby Digital DTS Digital Surround • Bitstream: Select if the equipment you connected can decode the signal. • PCM: Select if the equipment you connected cannot decode the signal. IMPORTANT If the equipment you connected cannot decode the signal, the setting must be changed to PCM. If not, signals the equipment cannot process will be output by this unit, causing high levels of noise which can damage your hearing and the speakers. Dynamic Range Compression (Dolby Digital only) • Off • On: Adjust for clarity even when the volume is low through compressing the range of the lowest sound level and the highest sound level. Convenient for late night viewing. ■ "Display" tab-To choose the on-screen message language or to turn languages off Menu Language Choose the language for these menus and the on-screen messages. On-Screen Messages Choose whether to show on-screen messages or not. • English • Français • Español • On • Off ■ "Others" tab- To make other settings QUICK SETUP Re-initialize Setting This returns all values in the SETUP menus to the default settings. • Yes • Yes: • No • No The password screen is shown if "Ratings" (➡ "Disc" tab, page 21) are set. Please enter the same password. Turn the unit off and on again.
