04 Controls and displays • DIGITAL Selects an optical or coaxial digital signal. • ANALOG Selects an analog signal. HI-BIT (page 43) Use this to switch the audio scaler on or off. 8 TV CONTROL buttons These are dedicated buttons used to control your TV once you've programmed your TV preset code (see Controlling other equipment on page 53 for more on this). TV Use it to turn on/ off your TV. INPUT SELECT Press to select the input source for the TV. CHANNEL +/- Use these buttons to change the channel of the TV. VOLUME +/- Press to control the volume of the TV. 9 MULTI OPERATION (page 58) Use this button to perform multi operations. 10 LED display This display flashes when a command is sent from the remote control to the receiver. It also flashes at other times, for example when teaching the receiver preset codes. 11 SOURCE Use this button to turn on/off other components. You must input the component preset code in order to do this (see Using the remote control with other components on page 53). 12 RECEIVER Press this button to access receiver functions or when setting up the receiver. 13 Receiver functions ACOUSTIC EQ Press to select an acoustic calibration EQ setting. INPUT Press to select an input source. The button will cycle through all the possible input sources. SB CH MODE (page 42) Use to select the surround/virtual back channel mode. MULTI CH INPUT (page 40) Press to select the component connected to the MULTI CH IN terminals (for example, a DVD-Audio player). MIDNIGHT (page 44) Press to switch on/off Midnight listening. MUTE Press to mute or restore the volume. 14 MASTER VOLUME Use to increase or decrease the volume of the receiver. 15 TOP MENU/GUIDE Use to display the disc 'top menu' when a DVD player is selected as the input source. Also use to find stations or menus on a digital TV tuner. 16 / / / /ENTER buttons Use to navigate menus and select options/execute commands. 17 RETURN When you are setting up the receiver, this button will take you back one step. When another component is selected (such as a DVD player, cable tuner, satellite tuner or digital TV tuner), use it the same way as the components 'Return' button (it may also exit from the menu screen, depending on the maker of the unit). 18 SUB TITLE Use to switch the subtitles on a DVD player or disc. 19 REMOTE SETUP Use to customize remote control functions (see Controlling other equipment on page 53 for more on this). 36 En
