Controlling other equipment 08 Controls for TVs This remote control can control components after entering the proper codes or teaching the receiver the commands (see Using the remote control with other components on page 53 for more on this). Use the MULTI CONTROL buttons to select the component. Button(s) Function TV Switches the TV, Satellite TV, or CATV between standby and on. Components Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV INPUT SELECT Switches the TV input. (Not possible with all models.) TV TV CHANNEL Selects channels. +/- Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV TV VOLUME Adjusts the TV volume. TV +/- Use to move back channels. Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV/DTV Use to move forward channels. Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV/DTV Use to choose the BLUE commands on a DTV menu. Satellite TV/DTV Use to move back a page in the menu. Cable TV Use to choose the YELLOW commands on a DTV menu. Satellite TV/DTV Use to move forward a page in the menu. Cable TV Use to choose the GREEN commands on a DTV menu. Satellite TV/DTV Use to choose the RED commands on a DTV menu. Satellite TV/DTV Switches the DTV on or off. Satellite TV/DTV GUIDE Use as the GUIDE button for navigating. Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV/DTV RETURN Exits the menu. Cable TV/Satellite TV/DTV Number buttons Use to select a specific TV channel. Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV/DTV ENTER/ DISC Use to enter a channel. Cable TV/TV/DTV MENU Selects the menu. Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV/DTV ENTER & Press to select or adjust and navigate items on the menu screen. Cable TV/Satellite TV/TV/DTV • The TV CONTROL buttons on the remote control are dedicated to control the TV assigned to the TV CONT button. Thus if you only have one TV to hook up to this system assign it to the TV CONT MULTI CONTROL button. If you have two TVs, assign the main TV to the TV CONT button. • Depending on the maker and individual model, there are some buttons that may not be able to operate some equipment or may operate it in a different way. 55 En
