When you record in a quiet environment, we recommend that you use an external microphone. Connect an external microphone (not supplied) to the external microphone jack of this camcorder. Ø 3.5 stereo mini-jack • The internal microphone is automatically turned off when you attach an external microphone. • Zoom MIC and Voice Reduction functions are automatically turned off. • The sensitivity level may differ depending on the microphone. Use the MIC Level menu to find the appropriate recording sound level. Otherwise, loud sounds may produce distortion. 38
