When the DVD camcorder is turned on, auto focus will always be set. You can also manually focus a subject depending on the recording conditions. Settings Auto Face Detection Manual Contents In most situations, it is better to use the automatic focus feature, as it enables you to concentrate on the creative side of your recording. The detected face image is optimized automatically. • The Face Detection Indicator ( ) and Face Detection Frame ( ) are not recorded. • Framing a person's face while Face Detection is set will adjust focus and exposure to optimal values automatically. • Face Detection may not operate depending on recording conditions. For example, the Face Detection Frame may appear when framing a "face-like" shape, even when the subject is not a person's face. If this occurs, turn off the Face Detection feature. • Faces may not be detected in the following cases; - Faces are not full-faces, not "head-on," or not completely exposed. (for example, the side of a face, a face wearing sunglasses) - Faces are extremely bright or dark - The size of a face is small on the screen. - The subject moves quickly. • While using the following functions, you cannot use the Face Detection function: "EASY Q," "iSCENE," "Shutter: Manual," "Exposure: Manual," "Digital Effect," "C.Nite," "Resolution: Web& Mobile(SC-DX205 only)."
