Selecting a Character Input Mode Your Sprint PCS PhoneTM provides convenient ways to enter words, letters, punctuation and numbers. To change the character input mode: 1. In a text entry field (e.g. for entering a folder name on page 60 and an event description on page 104, etc.), press Mode (right softkey) to display the "Input Mode" menu. 2. Highlight your desired mode from T9 Word, Alphabet, SYMBOL or NUMBER, and press . Entering Characters by Tapping the Keypad To enter characters by tapping the keypad, select the Alphabet mode (see "Selecting a Character Input Mode" on page 41). Press the corresponding key until the desired character appears. By default, the first letter of a word is capitalized and following letters are lowercase.
