STRETCH STITCHES SETTINGS :Presser foot - General Purpose Foot Stretch stitches are mainly for use on knit or stretchable fabrics, but can also be used on woven fabrics. STRAIGHT STRETCH STITCH Straight stretch stitch is far stronger than an ordinary straight stitch because it locks three times - forwards, backwards and forwards. It is particularly suitable for reinforcing the seams of sportswear in stretch and non-stretch fabrics, and for curved seams which take a lot of strain. Use this stitch also to top-stitch lapels, collars and cuffs to give DSURIHVVLRQDO¿QLVKWR\RXUJDUPHQWV OVEREDGE STITCH 09 This stitch is especially used for making sportswear. It is ideal for edging neck-bands, armholes, sleeves and hems. FEATHER STITCH 10 This stitch can be used for topstitching and for attaching lace and trims. It is also ideal for quilting applications and for edge-joining. BLANKET STITCH 69 79 The decorative appearance combined with practical use of this stitch enables it to be used for hemstitching and to applique a quilt. 44
