Using the Menu z Tips • For better color balance adjustment when [WHITE BAL.] is set to [AUTO], aim your camcorder at a nearby white object for about 10 seconds after setting the POWER switch to CAMERA-TAPE when: - You remove the battery pack for replacement. - You bring your camcorder outdoors from inside the house while using fixed exposure, or bring your camcorder in from outside. • Redo the [ONE PUSH] procedure when: - You changed the [PROGRAM AE] settings when [WHITE BAL.] is set to [ONE PUSH]. - You brought your camcorder outdoors from inside the house, or vice versa. • Set [WHITE BAL.] to [AUTO] or [ONE PUSH] under white or cool white fluorescent lamps. AUTO SHUTTER GON OFF Select to automatically activate the electronic shutter to adjust the shutter speed when recording in bright conditions. Select when recording without using the electronic shutter. SPOT FOCUS See page 41 for details. FOCUS See page 42 for details. FLASH SET Note that these settings will not function with external flashes that do not support the following settings. FLASH MODE GON ON AUTO AUTO Select to trigger the flash (optional) regardless of the brightness of the surroundings. For DCR-PC109: Select to trigger the flash (optional) regardless of the brightness of the surroundings. The flash goes off prematurely to reduce the red-eye phenomenon.
