Installing the TV Rear Panel Connectors 1 R L AUDIO IN 5 IN 2 3 VHF/UHF AC IN VIDEO IN 1 3 S VIDEO VIDEO L(MONO) AUDIO R HD/DVD IN 4 Y PB PR L AUDIO R CENTER SPEAKER IN 180W (6 ) MAX L(MONO) AUDIO R AUDIO OUT (VAR/FIX) 4 5 6 7 8 Jack Description 1 HDMI IN/L-AUDIO-R (HDMI IN 5) HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) provides an uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface between this TV and any HDMI-equipped audio/video component, such as a set-top box, DVD player, and A/V receiver. HDMI supports enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio. 2 VHF/UHF RF input that connects to your VHF/UHF antenna or cable box. 3 AC IN Connects the supplied AC power cord. 4 S VIDEO IN 1/3 Connects to the S VIDEO OUT jack of your VCR or other video equipment that has S VIDEO. S VIDEO provides better picture quality than either composite video (5) or VHF/UHF (2) connections. 5 VIDEO IN 1/3 VIDEO/ Connect to the composite A/V output jacks on your VCR or other video component. A third composite L-AUDIO-R A/V input jack (VIDEO IN 2) is located on the front panel of the TV. These video connections provide better picture quality than the VHF/UHF (2) connections. 6 HD/DVD IN 4 Y, PB, PR/ Connect to your DVD player's or digital set-top box's component video (Y, PB, PR) and audio (L/R) L-AUDIO-R jacks. Component video provides better picture quality than the S VIDEO (4), the VHF/UHF (2) or the composite video (5) connections. 7 AUDIO OUT (VAR/FIX) L/R Connects to the left and right audio input jacks of your audio or video equipment. You can use these outputs to listen to your TV's audio through your stereo system. 8 5 CENTER SPEAKER Connect the center output terminals of a Dolby Pro Logic* system decoder amplifier. You can use the IN 180W (6Ω) MAX TV speakers as a center speaker. * "Dolby", "Pro Logic", and the double-D symbol are trademarks of Dolby Laboratories. 19
