Operating the Deck Using a Keyboard Labeling tracks and MDs using the keyboard If you use a keyboard, you can quickly enter names. 1 Press [Enter] while the deck is in one of the operating modes listed below, depending on what you want to label: To label Press while the deck is A track An MD Playing, paused, recording, or stopped with the track number displayed Stopped with total number of tracks displayed A flashing cursor appears in the display. 2 Enter a name. In addition to letter keys, you can also use the keys shown in the following table. 3 Press [Enter]. The whole name appears in the display. Operations you may want to do while labeling a track or an MD To Press on the keyboard Cancel the operation [Esc] Switch between uppercase [Caps Lock] and lowercase letters Move the cursor [N] or [n] Erase the character at the cursor position [Delete] Erase the character preceding the cursor [Back Space] z You can use any IBM*-compatible keyboard** with a PS/2 interface. * IBM is the registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation. ** Power consumption must be 120 mA or less. If you use a keyboard, you can quickly enter names.

Press [Enter] while the deck is in one of the
