Using the alarm (Melody Timer) 1 Enter the menu and select "USEFUL" - "M-TIMER" - "ON". , lights up in the display and the alarm sound can be selected. 2 Turn the jog dial repeatedly to select the alarm sound, and then press the jog dial. See step 5 of "Setting the alarm (Melody Timer)" (page 37) for the varieties of alarm sound. 3 Turn the jog dial to select the elapsed time. One rotation of the control changes the elapsed time setting (TIME :) by 1 minute, within a range of 1 to 99 minutes. To change the time quickly, keep turning the jog dial. 4 Press the jog dial to enter the selection. The time remaining until the alarm is shown in the display while the recorder is stopped. The following setting can be stored: • Volume • Play mode • Group mode • Program play • Sound quality (Virtual Surround/6-Band Equalizer) • Playback speed (Digital Pitch Control) • Bookmark 1 When the recorder is stopped, playing, or play-paused, enter the menu and select "USEFUL" "PERSONAL". "Entry?" appears in the display. "Entry OK" appears in the display and the disc settings are stored in the recorder.
