Viewing non-audio data stored on the disc in the display window of the recorder (File List) When using a disc in Hi-MD mode, you can view non-audio data stored on the disc in the display window of the recorder. The name and size of files are displayed. Root directory (first level) Subdirectory (2nd level) Subdirectory (3rd level) 1 While the recorder is stopped, enter the menu and select "File List". The root directories appear in the order saved. Disc name x A list of files and folders is displayed. 2 Turn the jog dial to select the file you want to confirm, and then press the jog dial to enter the selection. File size appears. x File size appears : Directory : File • Up to 16 levels of directories can be viewed. • Up to 512 files or folders can be viewed in a root directory in the order saved. • Up to 1,024 files or folders can be viewed in each sub-directory. MENU Jog dial If you want to go deeper, select the folder containing the file you want to check, and then press the jog dial. A list of files and folders in the selected folder appears in the display. Afterwards, perform the operation in step 2 again. Notes • This function cannot be used to open files. • Text containing characters that are not supported by the recorder will not be displayed correctly. • File or directory names more than 9 characters long will be shortened. • If you select "File List" while playing or recording a track, "CANNOT SET" appears in the display and no list will appear. 63

When using a disc in Hi-MD mode, you
can view non-audio data stored on the
disc in the display window of the
recorder. The name and size of files are
displayed.
Up to 16 levels of directories can be
viewed.
Up to 512 files or folders can be viewed
in a root directory in the order saved.
Up to 1,024 files or folders can be
viewed in each sub-directory.

While the recorder is stopped, enter
the menu and select “File List”.
The root directories appear in the
order saved.

Turn the jog dial to select the file you
want to confirm, and then press the
jog dial to enter the selection.
File size appears.
If you want to go deeper, select the
folder containing the file you want to
check, and then press the jog dial. A
list of files and folders in the selected
folder appears in the display.
Afterwards, perform the operation in
step 2 again.
This function cannot be used to open files.
Text containing characters that are not
supported by the recorder will not be
displayed correctly.
