Chapter 3 Preparations Preparations 3 Chapter 3-1 Software Installation To use this unit, the necessary software must first be installed on the computer to which it is connected. For details of software operating environment requirements, see page 12. 3-1-1 Windows Installation XDCAM Drive Software and utility software Installing the XDCAM Drive Software in the computer allows video and audio data to be handled as files (see Chapter 4, "Handling Files" (page 23)). In order to check and manipulate the settings on this unit from a computer, install the utility software on the computer connected to this unit. Load the supplied PDW-U1 CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive, and run the program Setup.exe in the XDCAM Drive Software folder on the CD-ROM. Follow the directions on screen to install the XDCAM Drive Software, and then the utility software. Note If an old version of the XDCAM Drive Software is already installed, it must be uninstalled before you install the new version. Use "Add or Remove Programs" on the Control Panel to remove the old version of the Sony XDCAM Drive Software. After doing so, be sure to restart the computer. To install the PDZ-1 Proxy Browsing Software Load the supplied XDCAM Application Software CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive, and run the program Setup.exe in the PDZ-1 folder on the CDROM. For more details, refer to the ReadMe file of the PDZ-1. To install the PDZ-VX10 XDCAM Viewer Load the supplied XDCAM Application Software CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive, and run the program Setup.exe in the PDZ-VX10 folder on the CD-ROM. Installation
To use this unit, the necessary software

Installing the XDCAM Drive Software in

Setup.exe in the PDZ-VX10 folder on the
