After downloading the BC_VUP software to your PC, simply connect your scanner to your PC using the supplied USB cable and select Mass Storage. Then, in BC_VUP, select Model/Version and follow the on-screen prompts. HOW DO I . . . ? How Do I . . . ? Assign channels Start scanning Pause and restart scanning Scan a different bank than the current bank. Scan Weather Channels Create a Quick Search Create a Custom Search Set Up . Be in a Scan mode or Tone-Out mode. Do This Go to: MENU/Program Channel. Select the bank you want to use for the custom service and name it. Select Edit Channel. The next menu selections let you assign a frequency to a channel in the selected bank and adjust that channel's characteristics. See page 66 for details. Press SCAN/srch. Press HOLD to pause scanning. Press HOLD again to resume scanning. Press 0 - 9 to turn off the banks you do NOT want to scan. The scanner will scan the active banks. Press MENU/WX Operation/Weather Scan. Press Func and SCAN/ srch keys. The scanner begins scanning all frequencies. Go to MENU/Search For.../ Edit Custom. Select a custom Search (1 - 10) and enter the lower and upper limits. 56
