TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Cannot select foreign language soundtracks or subtitles. Subtitles are not displayed. Cannot select camera angles. Cannot play some files. Cannot record a DVD. The TV picture is disturbed. The picture is stretched or black bars are displayed. Ghosting appears in some areas of the picture. The disc ejected as soon as it was loaded. The message "No Disc" is displayed even though a disc is loaded. Cannot display the DVD setup menu, Initial Settings, and Video Adjust menus. Cause The loaded disc does not contain foreign language soundtracks or subtitles. The loaded disc does not allow this operation. Subtitles are turned off. The loaded disc does not contain subtitles. When using A-B repeat playback, subtitles outside of the specified section may not be displayed. The loaded disc does not contain multiple camera angles. Only MP3, WMA, MPEG-4 AAC, and JPEG files with no copy protection (DRM) can be played. The file is not supported. The DVD is copy protected. The picture may be disturbed while rewinding or fast forwarding. The TV Screen setting is set incorrectly. The video material is incompatible with the Progressive Scanning function due to the way in which it was edited or the type of material it is. The loaded disc in not supported. The disc is not properly inserted into the disc slot. These menus can be displayed only when DVD as the input source is selected. Remedy See the disc packaging for details on foreign language soundtracks and subtitles. Select foreign language soundtracks or subtitles in the disc menu. Select a subtitle. See the disc packaging for details on subtitles. Turn off A-B repeat playback. See the disc packaging for details on multiple camera angles. Use files with no copy protection. Use only supported file format. Most DVD-Video discs are copy protected and cannot be recorded. This is not a malfunction. Check the TV Screen setting and change as necessary. Change the Component Out setting to Interlace. Use only supported disc formats. Insert the disc, label-side up into the disc slot. Select DVD as the input source. See page -- 28 29 -30 --- 26, 27, 33 --38 38 2 26 5, 9 USB Problem Cannot play content stored on a USB mass storage device. Cannot play some files. Cause Not all USB storage devices are recognized by this unit. Only USB storage devices formatted with FAT16 or FAT32 are supported. The USB storage device is connected to a USB hub, but this unit does not support USB hubs. Only MP3, WMA, MPEG-4 AAC, and JPEG files with no copy protection (DRM) can be played. The file is not supported. Remedy Try another USB storage device. Reformat the USB storage device with FAT16 or FAT32. Connect the USB storage device directly to the USB port of this unit.
