Configuring various functions (SETUP menu) Network Configures the network settings. ■ Connection Selects the network connection method. Wired Wireless W.Direct (Wireless Direct) Select this option when you want to connect the unit to a network with a commerciallyavailable network cable (p. 13). Select this option when you want to connect the unit to a network via the wireless router or access point (p. 15, 16, 16). Select this option when you want to connect a mobile device to the unit directly. For details on settings, see "Connecting a mobile device to the unit directly (Wireless Direct)" (p. 17). Note If the unit is operating in MusicCast Extend mode, "Extend" will be displayed. For details on Extend mode, see the MusicCast Setup Guide on the Yamaha website. ■ Information Displays the network information on the unit. If "Ready" appears, you can use the MusicCast CONTROLLER app. Displays MAC address of the unit. MAC address will vary depending on the connection method (wired LAN connection or wireless LAN / Wireless Direct connection). IP address Subnet mask The IP address of the default gateway The IP address of the primary DNS server The IP address of the secondary DNS server ■ IP Address Configures the network parameters (such as IP address). DHCP Select whether to use a DHCP server. Does not use a DHCP server. Configure the Off network parameters manually. For details, see "Manual network settings" below. On (default) Uses a DHCP server to automatically obtain the unit's network parameters (such as IP address). Note A Digital Media Controller (DMC) is a device that can control other network devices through the network. Network
Configures the network settings.
Connection

Note
A Digital Media Controller (DMC) is a device that can control
other network devices through the network. When this function is
enabled, you can control playback of the unit from DMCs (such
as Windows Media Player 12) on the same network.
Wired
Select this option when you want to connect
the unit to a network with a commercially-
available network cable (p. 13).
Wireless
Select this option when you want to connect
the unit to a network via the wireless router or
access point (p. 15, 16, 16).
W.Direct
(Wireless

Select this option when you want to connect a
mobile device to the unit directly. For details

Appears if an update for this unit’s firmware is
