Troubleshooting Problem Possible cause Remedy The sound suddenly goes off. The protection circuitry has been activated because of a short circuit, etc. Set the speaker impedance to match your speakers. Check that the speaker wires are not touching each other and then turn the power of this unit back on. This unit has become too hot. Make sure the openings on the top panel are not blocked. The auto power standby function has turned this unit off. Change the auto power standby ("AutoPowerStby" in the "SETUP" menu) to turn off. Only the speaker on one side can be heard. Incorrect cable connections. Incorrect setting for the speaker balance. Connect the cables properly. If the problem persists, the cables may be defective. Set the speaker balance ("Balance" in the "SETUP" menu) to the appropriate setting. The remote control will function within a maximum range of 6 m (20 ft) and no more than 30 degrees offaxis from the front panel. Reposition this unit. Replace all batteries. See page 9 - 9 ■ FM reception Problem Possible cause The FM radio reception strength is poor, and noise can be heard. The unit is receiving radio interference, such as multipath reflections. The unit is receiving in a region located far away from the radio station. The radio station cannot be automatically selected. The FM radio signal is weak. Remedy Change the FM antenna height, direction, or place of installation. Press the MODE button repeatedly on the remote control (or on the front panel) to set "FM Mode" to "Mono".
