CHAPTER 4 Setup Wizard 4.1 Accessing the Wizard Connect a router or switch with Internet access to port 1 (ge1), and your computer to ports 2-6 (ge 2-6) of the NXC. When you log into the Web Configurator for the first time or when you reset the NXC to its default configuration, the wizard screens display automatically. For subsequent logins, click the Wizard icon at the top of any Web Configurator screen. 4.2 Using the Wizard This wizard helps you configure the following settings: 1 For the NXC: • Country code • Time zone • Daylight saving • IP address • VLAN interfaces 2 For managed APs: • Radio settings • SSID profiles 4.2.1 Step 1 Password and Time Settings Use this screen to configure the NXC's system password, time zone and daylight savings time. It's important to have correct date and time values in the logs. If your NXC cannot get the correct date and time, it may not be able to connect to a time server. • New Password & Confirm Password: Enter a new password and retype it to confirm. • Country: Select the country where the NXC is located. • Time Zone: Select the time zone of your location. This will set the time difference between your time zone and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). • Enable Daylight Savings: Select the option if you use Daylight Saving Time. Configure the day and time when Daylight Saving Time starts and ends. The default daylight savings settings vary depending on the time zone you selected. • Offset allows you to specify how much the clock changes when daylight saving begins and ends. Enter a number from 1 to 5.5 (by 0.5 increments). NXC Series User's Guide 47
