Maintenance and Specifications CHANGING THE WIPER BLADES It is recommended that wiper blades are renewed before winter. To replace the wiper blades: 1. Fold back the wiper arm and position the wiper blade at right angles to the wiper arm. 2. To remove, press the retaining clip (A) to disengage the wiper blade, then pull the blade down toward the windshield to remove it from the arm. 3. Install the new wiper blade on the arm and press it into place until a click is heard. Replace wiper blades at least once per year for optimum performance. Poor wiper quality can be improved by cleaning the wiper blades and windshield, refer to Windows and wiper blades in the Cleaning chapter. To prolong the life of the wiper blades, it is highly recommended to scrape off the ice on the windshield before turning on the wipers. The layer of ice has many sharp edges and can damage the micro edge of the wiper rubber element. Changing rear window wiper blade The rear wiper arm is designed without a service position. This reduces the risk of damage to the blade in an automatic car wash. To replace the wiper blade: 1. Lift and hold the wiper blade off the glass. 2. Press the release tab to unlock wiper blade from wiper arm. 3. Pull the wiper blade toward the base of the wiper arm and remove it from the arm. 4.
