English CHAPTER 7 MAINTENANCE Cleaning CAUTION Turn off the machine before cleaning. Turn the hand wheel and move the needles down. Periodically clean dust, trimmed fabric and thread with the included cleaning brush. Changing the light bulb CAUTION Turn off the main power and light switch and unplug the machine before you change the light bulb. If the main power and light switch is on when you change the light bulb, you may get an electric shock. If the machine is on and you step on the foot controller, you may be injured. To avoid burns, let the light bulb cool down before you change it. 1. Loosen the screw with a cross slot screwdriver, and then remove the lamp cover. Oiling For smooth and silent operation, the moving parts (indicated with arrows) of the machine should be oiled periodically. CAUTION Turn off the machine before opening the front cover and oiling. 2. Replace the light bulb with a new one. Parts code of the light bulb: X53061050 (U.S.A., CANADA) 205336050 (OTHERS) 3. Close the lamp cover and tighten the screw. NOTE: Be sure to oil your sewing machine before use. Always clean the lint off your machine before you apply oil. Oil the machine once or twice a month for normal use. If the machine is used more often, oil it once a week. 27

Changing the light bulb
CAUTION
Turn off the main power and light switch and
unplug the machine before you change the light
bulb. If the main power and light switch is on
when you change the light bulb, you may get an

you change it.
