Notes z If the printer is connected to an AC outlet, when the printer starts up, it automatically used the power supplied from the AC outlet, even if the battery pack switch is switched on. z When power is supplied from the battery pack, the printer will turn off automatically if it does not receive any data within 30 minutes. Checklist for Routine System Start-operation Operation 1 Make sure the printer is connected to your computer. 2 Turn on your computer. 3 Decide which printer power source to use: To use AC power, plug the adapter into an AC outlet. To use an installed battery pack, disconnect the AC adapter from the printer. (Also make sure the battery pack is switched on.) 4 Turn on the printer. 5 Load paper. 6 Make sure the ON LINE indicator lights. The printer is ready for printing. System shut down 1 Turn off the printer. The BJ cartridge is recapped automatically. 2 Turn off the Computer. Caution Whenever you turn off the printer, always wait for 4 seconds or more, before turning it back on again. Traveling with the Printer If you plan to travel with the printer, take the following steps. 1 Remove the AC adapter and printer cable, but leave the BJ cartridge and battery pack (Switch it off) in the printer.

Notes
