Chapter 7 Troubleshooting Errors Displayed Via Indicators If any printer problem occurs, first look at the indicators on the control panel and see if the chart below can help. If that is not successful, then try the 'Errors Not Displayed Via Any Indicator" section. If the problem still persists, jot down the symptoms and any additional information, then contact your local Canon dealer for assistance. Diagnosis Chart POWER ONLINE ERROR ANALYSIS/REMEDY OFF OFF OFF The AC adapter is improperly connected or the power switch is turned off. ON OFF ON (The buzzer sounds 2 times in BJ-lOe mode, or 3 times in LQ mode.) The printer is out of paper. Load new paper and press the ON LINE switch to resume printing. ON OFF ON (The buzzer sounds continuously.) There is a paper jam, or paper longer than 15" has been loaded. Fix the paper jam, or reload with appropriate paper. Press the LF/FF switch to feed the paper. ON OFF Blinks (The buzzer sounds continuously.) The carriage has not returned to the home position (far left position). Turn the printer off and then back on again to reset it. ON Blinks OFF (The buzzer sounds 5 times.) There is a software error. Turn the printer off and then back on to reset it. ON Blinks OFF (The buzzer sounds continuously.) There is a software error during the warming up period. Turn the printer off and then back on again to reset it. ON Blinks Blinks (The buzzer sounds 3 times.) There is a software error. Turn the printer off and then back on again to reset it. Blinks OFF OFF (The indicator blinks in every second.) The battery is being recharged. The printer turns off automatically when it is fully recharged. Blinks OFF OFF (The indicator blinks every half a second.) The battery is low.
