3 Changing the File Name The file name has four alphanumeric characters followed by a four-digit image number (p.79) and (Ex.) 7E3B0001.JPG extension. The first four alphanumeric characters are set upon factory shipment and unique to the camera. However, you can change it. With "User setting1," you can change and register the four characters as desired. With "User setting2," if you register three characters, the fourth character from the left will be appended automatically to indicate the image size. Registering the File Name (first 4 characters) 1 Select [File name setting]. Under the [5] tab, select [File name setting], then press . 2 Select [Change User setting]. Turn the dial to select [Change User setting*], then press . 3 Enter any alphanumeric characters. With User setting1, enter 4 characters. With User setting2, enter 3 characters. Operate the dial or to move the cursor to the right of the character to be deleted. Then press the button to delete the character. Press the button, and the text palette will be highlighted in a color frame and text can be entered. 77
