Speaker assembly Description Speaker assembly (includes cable) Spare part number 620607-001 Before removing the speaker assembly: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn on the computer, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 36) b. Hard drive cover (see Hard drive on page 37) c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 42) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 46 ) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 49) Remove the speaker assembly: 1. Position the top cover upside down. 2. Remove the two Phillips 2.5×3.0 screws (1) that secure the speaker assembly to the top cover. 3. Remove the tape around the speaker cable. 4. Release the speaker from the plastic clip in the center (2). 5. Swing the right edge of the speaker assembly down (3) toward the TouchPad. 52 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the speaker assembly:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn on

Remove the speaker assembly:
1.
Position the top cover upside down.
2.
Remove the two Phillips 2.5×3.0 screws
(1)
that secure the speaker assembly to the top cover.
3.
Remove the tape around the speaker cable.
4.
Release the speaker from the plastic clip in the center
(2)
.
5.
Swing the right edge of the speaker assembly down
(3)
toward the TouchPad.
