D-Link Document - User Manual For better protection and avoiding a single short period of high temperatures that could trigger an automatic shutdown, the system will gauge if a shutdown is needed. This is done using several sensors placed on key systems that the system checks every 30 seconds for present temperatures.  The core processor temperature limit is 80℃.  The interface temperature limit is 65℃.  The SAS Controller and SAS Expand or temperature limits are 65℃. When one of these sensors reports a temperature above the threshold for three continuous minutes, the system shuts down automatically. UPS The UPS tab is used to set up a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Currently, the system only supports and communicates with Smart-UPS series by APC (American Power Conversion Corp, http://www.apc.com/) and Megatec UPS. TIP: Connection with other vendors of UPS can work well, but they have no such communication features with the system. We support the traditional UPS via serial port and network UPS via SNMP. If using the UPS with a serial port, connect the system to UPS via the included cable for communication. (The cable plugs into the serial cable that comes with the UPS.) Then set up the shutdown values for when the power goes out. This table shows the available options and their descriptions. Copyright@2014 D-Link System, Inc. All Rights Reserved. 80
