Configuring the router 25 CONFIGURING SPECIAL APPLICATIONS Some applications require multiple connections, such as Internet gaming, video conferencing, and Internet telephony. These are applications that have difficulties working through NAT (Network Address Translation). Special Applications makes some of these applications work with the router. To run applications that require multiple connections: 1 Specify the port normally associated with an application in the Trigger Port field, then select the protocol type as TCP or UDP. 2 Enter the public ports associated with the trigger port to open them for inbound traffic. 3 The router provides some predefined applications in the table on the bottom of the Web page. Select the application you want to use, then click Enable to enable it. Note - Only one computer can use each Special Application tunnel. To configure special applications: 1 Access the Configuration menu by following the instructions in To access the Web-based configuration utility: on page 13. 2 Click the Advanced tab, then the Application button. The Special Application screen opens.
