7. Gently tap both sides of the air filter against a hard surface four or five times to remove loose dust from the air filter. Note: Do not tap the filter too hard. If you don't have one, gently clean the filter using a very soft brush (such as a clean artist's paintbrush). If the dirt is difficult to remove or the filter is broken, replace it.
